Characterization of the evaluation of the quality of the initial formation of the language teachers of English

This work presented one of the most updated topics for the Cuban Educational System: the evaluation of the quality of the initial formation of professors. The paper was specifically related to the formative process of the students of the Specialty in Education, in Foreign Languages. The article introduced a historical study about how the evaluation of the initial formation of the students of such specialty has been carried out. Different research methods were applied, such as: analysis and synthesis, historical and logical method, analysis of documents and consult of personal sources. This search lead to some regularities in the evaluation of the quality of the initial formation of professors of English in the University of Pedagogical Sciences of Holguín.
