Abstract

Process evaluation is a crucial component in the higher education evaluation system. The "Comprehensive Plan for Reform of Educational Assessment in the New Era" issued by the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and the State Council in 2020 highlights the importance of adhering to scientific and effective approaches, improving results evaluation, strengthening process evaluation, explore value-added evaluation and refine the comprehensive evaluation system. It is advocated to decisively change the practice of labeling students with scores, innovate in themethods of evaluating the process in terms of morality, intellect, health, aesthetics and work, and improve the comprehensive evaluation system of qualities. This marks the beginning of the reform of the educational evaluation system in the new era. This article is based on the general education elective course "Society and Culture of Latin American Countries" at Jilin University of International Studies, with the aim of exploring models and implementation plans for process evaluation in courses of this type.
