Aesthetics Education of Students with Special Educational Needs by Mild Intellectual Disability

Abstract

This article presents a systematization of the main aspects that should be taken into account when educating esthetically the students with special educational needs by mild intellectual disability. It is proposed a methodology supported by the theoretical elements associated to the psychopedagogical characteristics of these students, and it was introduced the socio – aesthetics – emotional interacting principle. Theoretical methods like the induction-deduction and the systemic approach were used. Likewise the empirical ones: participant and non participant observation, surveys, interviews and the experts´ consultation combined with the case study with the objective of elaborating a methodology for the aesthetics education of such students, in order to favor their social integration. The application of the proposed methodology produced satisfactory results in the development of the aesthetics of these students as well as in some damaged mental processes, which demonstrated its effectiveness due to their social integration.
