School Master´s Professionalism Profile as a Supervisor

The objective of this article consisted in outlining the Venezuelan school master´s professionalism profile as supervisor, based on three basic competences, necessary in performing his/her duties: the competence to conduct values education and to perusethe goals of Education, the pedagogic competence, and the competence in school management. The authors matched the knowledge, abilities and attitudes that correspond to each one of these competences. The analysis-synthesis and induction-deductionwere the Methods of Educational Research used in this research, whichenhanced evaluating the theoretical sources and contextualizing the object of study. The authors concluded that the pattern of professional profile proposed is made up of three competences derived from the knowledge, the skills, and the attitudes that school masters should develop in order to achieve an efficient professional performance, according to the challenges imposed by the new Venezuelan education. These challenges constituted a pattern to keep in mind for the school masters´ education and training in performing their tasks as supervisors.
