Abstract

The changing situations of modern society make family counseling necessary. In rural areas this orientation has special characteristics especially when it comes to stimulating the oral communication of children from the earliest ages. The Educate Your Child Program (PETH, by its Spanish acronym) provides an opportunity to develop this activity; however, the conception of the professional activity of the speech therapist in this educational space is still insufficient. The deepening in the literature and factual finding, led to the development of joint activities to stimulate the children´s oral communication, through the use of empirical and theoretical research methods on the speech therapy attention. They contribute raising the quality of the speech therapy from such ages; likewise the achievement of unity of all the educational agents, making emphasis on the family that participates in this process.
