Experiences of Professional Overcoming in a University Library

The professional improvement of the librarian is now a constant concern in the information society; and it is one of the main ways of achieving his social and transformer projection. The librarian permanent training can be done in any scenario through different ways from the undergraduate to post graduate studies. However, to any of these variants, their overcoming requires a strategic planning from the work area. The present work aims at presenting the main experiences achieved in the library Miguel de Cervantes Saavedra, from the University of Holguin, regarding this topic. Different methods were used like the gathering and interpretation of the data, the document and sources review, and the observation; likewise others in a triangulated way for a better understanding of what is it presented here. The result of this research has an effect on the professional overcoming of the librarian staff which influences their daily work through a better performance, as an essential part helping improve the quality of the products and services which answers to the main processes of the university.
