The formation of self-knowledge in the education of personality

The formation of self-knowledge plays a key role in the education of personality. Therefore, the objective of this article is the analysis of the role of this category in the formative process of undergraduate students of the pedagogical field, specifically those of the Pedagogy-Psychology major. Also, theoretical elements from different views are considered. The study is a result of the doctoral thesis: “The self-knowledge for learning in the Pedagogy-Psychology students.” This investigation was made through the use of the following methods: the observation to students, interviews to key informers, the analysis and the critics of sources. All the facts previously expressed, allow to affirm that: In the pedagogical sciences some studies are clear about what teachers and students must do, in order to establish their own learning strategies taking into account their self-knowledge, which contributes to the education of the personality.
