Abstract

The present article analyzes the conception of José de la Luz y Caballero about teaching natural sciences and Mathematics in primary and secondary schools of the public education during the third decade of the XIX Cuban century. The objective of this paper is to analyze and establish the theoretico-methodological foundations that support the conception of José de la Luz y Caballero about the teaching of these sciences in primary and secondary schools in the Cuban public education. The general method used was the dialectical one, and its application answered to the logical procedures of the scientific knowledge: analysis-synthesis and induction-deduction, making emphasis on the historico-logical.
