The Spanish Heritage in the Cuban Culture

This work presents significant aspects related to the Spanish influence in the formation of the Cuban culture; which has been responsible of a complex synthesis and crystallization process for centuries. Generally, the Cuban people belonging to the Spanish mosaic introduced different elements from each of their regions of origin in the Island. This article aimed at presenting those characteristics brought by the conquerors, which influenced the establishment of habits, the use or manipulation of formative elements, changes and incorporations of attitudes or the appropriation that together, as a whole, turned into the formation of a new cultural result of collective creation. Throughout this research and the triangulation of different methods to the better understanding of the content, such as the critical analysis of sources, the hermeneutic and the observation, one can conclude how the Spanish roots were consolidating in our country though a transculturation process, which defined concepts, forms, customs, manifestations, among other cultural and artistic aspects.
