Educational software: a contemporary medium

This work is the result of a study developed by the authors about the use of the educational software. Its objective aimed at the advantages of this contemporary medium related to its use in the elementary education teaching-learning process. The methods applied were: revision of documents of written sources on the topic, the analysis-synthesis, the induction-deduction, and the historical-logical which allowed drawing to general conclusions regarding the advantages of this medium in the elementary school. It also offered important elements to be considered by teachers in their preparation in order to make a more efficient use of such technology in the teaching- learning process.
