Abstract

This article starts from an examination of the theoretical foundations of the idealistic ethics of the categorical imperative of Emmanuel Kant. Then, it discovers the main determinations of the ethics of the great Cuban philosopher José de la Luz y Caballero, contrasting them with Kant's position. The paper reflects the high theoretical contribution exposed by Luz y Caballero in the face of Kantian ethics and provides a holistic vision of its ethics, as a faithful reflection of the development of the national formation process in Cuba.
