Abstract

The author of this article analyzes the importance of the lexicon treatment as a systematic activity in class. It was made, also, a proposal of activities starting from the application of learning strategies of vocabulary, which facilitated the understanding of the words by the students and their appropriate usage in the production of texts, in order to achieve an integral communicative competence. We conclude by suggesting that a systematic and planned approach is necessary to improve the vocabulary learning process.
