Vigencia de la obra de Gustave Flaubert, un maestro de las letras universales
Keywords:
Gustave Flaubert, universal literature, realismAbstract
Gustave Flaubert is one of the greatest writers of all times. His gift for literature shone in his adolescence: his works spring precociously. Later, at his father’s home in Croisset, overlooking the Seine, he devotes himself entirely to his grand passion: literature. Wrapped in himself, he outlines his conception of art. A study of Flaubert allows understanding why his name gives prestige to universal literature: his extreme care in composing his works. Flaubert polished his words like an artisan. Flaubert is influenced by the XIX century literary trends in France. In his beginnings he is a romantic, though realism and naturalism are also there. Yet, the essential in his works are definitely his elevated artistic merits.
