Esbozo sobre la narrativa en los premios de la ciudad de Holguín

The development of the literature in Holguín during the revolutionary period shows that story telling is promoted with special emphasis. Also, periodicals offer a room for the narrative. The narrative has not been prolific in Holguin’s literary tradition, yet it has born fruits, which has multiplied in authors, publications and freshness. Today’s condition of the narrative in Holguín is far from what it was in past decades. Many factors contribute to this: contests that promote the works selected. For example, the Premio de la Ciudad (City Award) in narrative. This is an award that has encouraged the production of stories, tales, and novels of different types.
