Historical evolution of university extension at the University of Pedagogical Sciences in Holguin

Abstract

University extension is a relevant process that takes place in universities; that´s why the analysis of its development and evolution in the Pedagogical universities is the essence of the article. The authors delved into the historical development of such process, considering the four moments of the evolution of the Holguin University of Pedagogical Sciences “José de la Luz y Caballero”, on its 35th anniversary, so the need to update it from the last decade. On this purpose methods were used, such as: analysis – synthesis, historical – logical, revision and analysis of documents, as well as the consultations of oral sources. This study allowed presenting regularities in the development of the extensionist process in the mentioned university.
