Unity in the 1895 War: an approach to the study from daily life in Holguín

This article is the partial result of a research project. Its objective was aimed at demonstrating the value that has the incorporation of the study of daily life to history, since it is the historical time where real life takes place and it can be verified the necessary and contradictory relationship between what it should be, and what it is, between the speech and official projects, as well as the acceptance of these by man in his daily relationships, all of which propitiates a deep knowledge of historical facts and processes and of the human being. Theoretical methods were used such as the analysis-synthesis, historical-logical, and induction-deduction; as well as the empirical: analysis of documents and historical sources closely related to the aforementioned topic. The most relevant thing in this investigation is the lesson it teaches about the need of assuming the project of unity to save the nation individually and collectively, in such a way, that it prepares the man to achieve his identity and commitment, making it part of his personal, family and community life.
