The Reciprocal Inhibiting Effect between Habits and its Influence in the Formation of Professional Skills

Abstract

The objective of the present article consisted on the explanation of the essence of the reciprocal inhibiting effect between habits, its influence on the professional skills formation and the possibilities of reducing or avoiding its negative consequences. The methods used were: the historical-logical, modeling, hermeneutic-dialectical and the systemic-structural, as well as interviews and surveys, observation, experts criterion and quasi-experiment. The developed diagnosis, showed inadequacies when appropriating those skills and one of the reasons why this happens is that the impact of the mentioned effect is not taken into consideration; that imperceptibly, causes problem in the acquisition of skills. The aforementioned effect consists on the influence of the existing habits in the individual over the formation of new ones. To counter such effect some recommendations are made regarding: not having antecedents on the operation of the equipment that has to be used; the teacher must demonstrate correctly the operations to be executed and get feedback from the correct acquisition before starting the systematization; if the operation is running incorrectly,  the teacher must lead the students to do it well before initiating the systematization and then achieve perfection when executing the operations, and start systematization leading to a rational repetition.
