Abstract

In the current article, the author’s present one of the most important aspects of José Martí´s thought: antimperialism. The authors take as a starting point an event that took place in a northamerican country that challenged the national and international public opinion: the event related to the process of the seven anarchists from Chicago. In this work, the authors make an analysis of the course of this event and the impact it had in José Martí as he got involved in the real causes which originated it, which gave him the chance to get a wider and truthful knowledge of the northamerican society, and also he reinforced his antimperialist formation as well.
