Abstract

A qualitative approach investigation was carried out based on a previous study with quantitative techniques where it was found that a significant number of students from theFaculty of Health Care Technology consume legal drugs as alcohol, that is why it was decided to develop a study to obtain elements to have a better understanding of attitudes, believes, motives and behaviours of the nursing school population. Interviews together with group techniques were widely used tools. It was shown that there are some misperceptions in relation with the concept of drugs, its features as well as attitudes and non-healthy practices for this group, constituting a risk factor for drug addiction. Marihuana, alcohol and cocaine are highly used drugs and the family was identified as the main protective factor making it become an easy way of approaching.
