Education procedure for sustainability during the teaching of Language and Literature in Basic General Education students

Abstract

The current situation in the world, and particularly in Latin America, highlights the urgent need to raise the environmental culture of the new generations. This responsibility falls, to a large extent, on schools, which, together with families and various community entities, prepare the citizens of the present and the future. This article presents a procedure focused on education for sustainability, aimed at students of Basic General Education through the teaching of Language and Literature. The procedure is based on the integration of environmental contents with the curricular contents of the subject, promoting the link between teaching and research. The study was developed through the methods of analysis, synthesis, documentary review and systemic approach, allowing a logical and coherent structuring of the proposed actions. This proposal is applicable in any educational context, with the possibility of adapting to the curricular characteristics and the needs of the students, providing flexibility and pertinent adaptations.
