Healthy and affordable alternative for sustainable agriculture: efficient microorganisms
Keywords:
efficient microorganisms (EM), beneficial microorganisms, Sustainable AgricultureAbstract
The study aims at proposing a methodology for obtaining a natural product based on effective microorganisms (EM), capable of replacing chemicals, and achieve a sustainable and healthy agriculture with good productive performance. The fact that in Holguín, particularly at the Pedagogical University “José de la Luz y Caballero”, where part of the soil reduced its production capacity, led the working area of this center to devote themselves to finding solutions to such problems. The achievement of high quality agricultural productions was possible, without the application of chemicals that would damage health and the environment, by using a methodology that allowed obtaining new agro ecological alternatives. The use of efficient microorganism made from natural raw materials was referenced in this article. A biological and natural product was obtained for different functions, including fertilizers, wastewater purifier and for conducting cleanups without using detergent and as enrichment of the food for animals. Encouraging results were presented in major grain crops and vegetables harvests.
