Urban Developmentof Holguín City in the period 1959-2010

Abstract

The article it approaches from the city studies, the thematic one urban. It shows a as well as the behavior of the urban development in Latin America and Cuba. The historical and urban evolution of the city of Holguín is analyzed as well as its antecedents. It was made a characterization of the urban environment and a study of some of the components that define the plot of the city, by means of a selection of aspects corresponding to the urban development and the architecture, in the period 1959-2010. The investigation intended as objective the realization of a study on the urban development of Holguín in the last decades. Quantitative and qualitative methodologies were used through a triangulation.
