Abstract

In Holguín, “one of the prities cities of Cuba”, according to a local history investigator, the editorial process was not known in the first haif of the XIX the century. In 1862 it appeared the first printing machine in Holguín city. This on was brought from las Tunas city. From this moment very impostans newspapers were developed and outstanding local and national journalist took part. These journalists were connected to etre origen of the revolutionary process and they participated actively in it. Due to editorial process new printings were built paving the way to the edition of the first books and the appearance of El delirio library, the first city library. The origen and development of the local editorial life from Holguín city, its first books and newspapers together the most important newspaper men, are present in this article.
