The behavior of the scientific production of the International University Teaching Seminar of the University of Cienfuegos

Abstract

Scientific production on the problems and challenges facing the teaching-learning process in Higher Education finds an important space for socialization in the International University Teaching Seminar, organized by the University of Cienfuegos. The last two editions took place in the midst of important transformations in the Cuban Higher Education. Focused on the application of the bibliometric method, the research aims to determine the productivity levels of the participants and identify the trends of knowledge production in the presentations of the aforementioned event in the 2016 and 2018 editions. The methodology of this research is of quantitative approach, with a descriptive scope. Important topics were analyzed by academics from nations in the region and from other universities in the country, expressing concern about the current paradigms in teaching and presenting innovative and creative proposals, where the student becomes the center of this process.
