Chronological Notes on the Position of the U. S. Governments during the Ten-Year Cuban War

The article aimed at revealing the hostility of the U.S. Governments against the independentist warriors of the Ten-Year War. The conflict between the U.S. Establishment and the Cuban historic process has always been present in the relations between the two nations. This issue is one of the central objects of study of the subject History of Cuba. The work presented a material with a chronological compilation of the actions engineered by Washington, to implement it in the Senior High Syllabus. The U.S. Presidents decided to ignore the beligerence of the Cuban warriors (mambises) and support the Spaniards: their attitudes went as far as allowing the sale of weapons to Spain, deterring proposals of laws in favor of the Cubans, sponsoring propaganda against the anti-colonial cause, intending to purchase the Island from Spain, and many other manuovers during the period; all of which unveil the expansionistic hopes of the U.S. Administrations in regards to Cuba.
