Margarita Rodríguez and Pedro Pablo Biens: indisputable referents of the new generations of instructors

Abstract

The insufficient knowledge about personalities that stand out in the artistic panorama of different regions of our country, was the point of departure, which allowed establishing as a research purpose, to make an approach to the life and work of two of the most consecrated instructors of Plastic Arts of the province of Holguín: Margarita Rodríguez Castellanos and Pedro Pablo Biens Carballo. The history of life method governed the entire investigative process and conceived the necessary elements for the collection of information that allowed the preparation of the document. The work involved searching for the concrete links that were found between written, oral and material documentary sources. In this sense, the interview was fundamental for the development of the research. The main result consisted in the elaboration of a content material of the history of life of these creative instructors, which constituted a feasible way to elevate the knowledge about their life and work, at the same time that served as recognition of his dedication in the field of artistic instruction.
