A critic view to the formation of a peculiar professional: the Arts instructor

The main concern of the improvement process that is developed in Higher Education is to increase the pertinence of plans and sylabusses to favor the students’ formation and their necessary preparation for the accomplishment of their future job, according to social goals. In consequence, the evaluation of the curricular design in Bachelor of Education: Art Instructor, from the University of Holguín defines as a premise, to guarantee the mastery of professional behaviors and methods that assure the students’ training for their future work. Summative evaluation is assumed as the kind of curricular assessment, since it allows making decisions for its improvement and redesign. In this respect, the author presents the actions developed and their corresponding results. The main methods used are: document analysis, observation of teaching and extracurricular activities, methodological sessions, staff meetings, interviews, workshops, subject planning and event reports, among others.
