Experiences in the methodological treatment in the study of the substances and chemical reactions

This article reflects the results of a research that aimed at the systematization of a methodology in the study of leading guidelines when teaching Chemistry. Regarding its fundamental methods, it is distinguished the experimental method for the execution of experimental activities and the theoretical ones for the analysis of theories and methodological principles. The two leading lines in the study of the subject are substances and chemical reactions. The most relevant aspect in the study of these lines is acquired in training professionals of education. In the Pedagogical University “José de la Luz y Caballero” of Holguín, teachers of the discipline General Chemistry, have systematized an experience in the study of chemical substances and reactions with the use of chemical experiments, which has shown positive results in the students’ learning, and has also contributed to the development of abilities for experimental work and in the students’ motivation toward teaching as a profession. Experimental methods significantly contributed to knowing such leading directives, which allowed the students to link their daily knowledge with the scientific knowledge.
