Cátedra Martiana del Instituto Superior Pedagógico “José de la Luz y Caballero”: Un tributo a la historia y la cultura

Abstract

The Catedras Honoríficas (Study Centers) are prestigious cultural institutions inside the university. They represent university culture with their history and renown. The Catedra Martiana(Center for the study of Martí´s life and work)of the teacher training College of Holguín is one of long, hard and uninterrrupted work and production. It was founded in 1982, the first in higher education in the province. This article is dedicated to the contributions made by the members of this Center to the values, political-ideological and cultural formation of students and professors, to the profound analyses made of Martí´s life and work in the territory, and to the efforts and results archieved by I´ts members.
