Abstract

This article presents a critical review of the scientific literature (2018-2025, Scopus and SciELO) on emerging technologies in educational innovation, analyzing their transformative potential and conditions for meaningful integration in school contexts. The analysis focused on artificial intelligence, augmented reality, and gamification, discussing how these tools enhance teaching-learning through personalization, student engagement, and immersive experiences. Challenges such as digital divides, teacher training, ethical implications, and the need for solid pedagogical frameworks are critically addressed. Results show that technology adoption alone does not guarantee educational innovation, as its impact depends on contextual, pedagogical, and institutional factors. It concludes that continuous teacher training, adaptive curriculum design, and critical reflection are key conditions for a student-centered, equitable, and sustainable educational transformation.
