Homenaje a José Martí en Holguín

Abstract

This work deals with tho first tiime in Holguín history in which a homage was offered to José Martí: the National Heroe of   the Cuban independence during the Neocolonial Republic. The article highlights, in particular, the important work carriet out in a school, in which the first monument of de heroe was erected. To carry out this work, the author consulted the official documents from the school “Los Amigos”,which has been carefully preserved in the History Provincial Archivo of Holguín.
