Luz’s third number arrives, with the satisfaction that it has been possible to work in an uninterrupted way in spite of the presence of covid19 that has imposed us the modification of work methods, with the objective of protecting our authors and editorial team.

We thank the authors and arbiters for having stayed in communication with us, in this stage, through the email and telephone calls, thus allowing a continuous work course so that this edition could be now available to researchers and readers.

A wide variety of topics are offered to the readers, showing interesting and novel studies in the field of the pedagogical sciences. Two works are related with the learning of the students: Inquiry-based learning in the Spanish educational context invites to an opportunity of development of the student body by means of techniques based on a pedagogy centered in the use of the method and design of scientific studies. Likewise, The contextualized learning of the subject Biology 1 of junior high school offers elements of importance to be consider by teachers in their preparation in order to obtain a more efficient use of contextual learning.

The topic of reading and its promotion within new contexts can be appreciated in the following titles: Activities for promoting reading habits through the titles of the Libertad Editorial Program in primary education, and EDULECTURA: Experiences on the reading promotion in the initial training of professionals of pedagogical sciences.

Actions in the field of science and innovation, as well as the necessity to stimulate the creativity in the students, these are concerns that can be found in the articles: Quality management in the medical emergency care from the science and innovation in Holguin, which reflects a retrospective-transverse-descriptive study in the period comprised between 2017 and 2019; and Developing innovative competences in educational processes: a route for the preparation of enterprising and creative professionals, whose result we highly recommend since it can be generalized to any educational major at a national and international level, always taking into consideration the necessary contextual adaptations to each particular formative process.

The constant strengthening of the relationship that should exist between the family and the school, and the search for ways of contributing to a better performance of the students, is appreciated in these works: Family counseling at the beginning of the school stage from a psychological-pedagogical approach; and Reflections on the negative impact of overprotection on the psychic development of children.
